It’s just let down by odd Ethernet port/overhanging lip design and that a number of suggested apps threw errors when trying to install.Īvailable from the manufacturer, the Xtreamer is available with free shipping worldwide, but do be aware that VAT/local taxes are not included and so you may have to pay a small amount upon delivery. The Xtreamer Wonder is such a versatile little console you’ll find you can do a lot with it and it’s worth taking some time to look at the suggested apps as there are likely to be a number you’ve not heard of that are very good.

With Razor planning on releasing software to stream PC games to Android boxes running Android 5 it would be brilliant if the Wonder gets updated the later version, this could be the ideal box to stream PC games to if Xtreamer can release an update. All the games tested ran perfectly and once setup (as many games aren’t natively mapped to the controller) worked brilliantly, no lag or stuttering, this is a great little Android games console. If you’re looking for something a little more exciting you can plug in a controller (in the video below you’ll see an Xbox 360 wireless adapter) and fire up a game or two.

for example if you plug in a keyboard and download Google Docs you’ve got a mini PC for writing, spreadsheets, presentations etc.

Video streaming works perfectly, the box is ideal for those who use Netflix, XBMC etc as the air mouse makes menu selection a nicer experience than having to use directional keys.īeing Android the range of apps combined with the USB ports mean you can use this box for a wide range of activities. That tended to be on unfamiliar apps so it wasn’t much of a loss, although it does mean you’re left with unusable shortcuts on the menu. In most cases this worked without any issues, however for some apps the installation process didn’t start and there was a ‘package parsing’ and nothing happened.

Many of the icons are actually shortcuts to the install files (as indicated by a small blue arrow on the icon), click on the icon and the install file will be downloaded and installed. It offers nice large icons on screen, it scrolls without any lag and it’s very intuitive.Īt first it might appear that the Wonder has come with lots of apps pre-installed, however that’s not the case. Manufacturers have taken a wide range of approaches to the menu system on Android boxes and the Wonder menu is certainly the slickest looking menu tested to date. Starting the Wonder up and you’re first presented with the Android 4.4 KitKat logo, the the Xtreamer logo and finally the rather nice menu system. This comes with a USB dongle to plug into one of the USB ports and gives you a very simple way of controlling the on screen pointer. Included in the box is an air mouse remote. On the inside the box is powered by a quad core processor and Android 4.4. This won’t be a problem if you’re using wifi, or not moving it around much, but something to keep in mind if you ever need to release the cable.

When you plug your Ethernet cable in the release mechanism is on top, directly under the plastic lip, meaning you can’t easily remove the cable without a flat object, such as a knife, to press the release catch down. There is a small problem with the overhanging lip design and the Ethernet port. Around one side are 3 USB ports and around the back are the remaining connections for HDMI, power, Ethernet and a memory card slot. There isn’t anything other than a couple of lights on the front. Unlike recently tested Android boxes the Wonder isn’t a the usual puck shape, instead opting for an arched, slightly larger, design. The Xtreamer Wonder aims to offer a convenient hassle free way of getting a wide range of media sources onto your TV.
